Rotor damage?

I just sold my JRSC, never had the thing apart, and the person who bought it from me told me that when he separated the intake manifold from the blower that they rotors looked similar to this. Apparently the epoxy is peeling off. What needs to be done to insure that the SC will be running strong for a long time. It was running stronger than ever the day I took it off my car. Any advice that I can tell this guy is greatly appreciated.

Looks a lot like this picture off of Endyn's site as their example of what happens to a JR blower on "too much boost."

I won't jump to a conclusion here not knowing anyone involved - but are you sure that's the blower you sold?

looks fried to me. Needs to be rebuilt. BUt yeah, I would have taken apart the manifold before I sold it to inspect the rotors. And likewise, I would not have bought a SC without seeing pictures of the the rotors.

I do remember when I first got my supercharger I inquired what a bad SC would look like, and the guys at jackson described exactly that.... Also, I remember many guys here sending in their superchargers that looked liek that, I wish i could find the thread.

In addition, If you sold it local, I would go look at the guys car to make sure it didnt magically come off his car.

I know that is the pic from endyn's site, he said that is what it looks like. I am still waiting to get pics from him as his digital camera is broken at the moment. What would you guys do if you were in my situation? The charger was working great when taken off the car, I seriously didn't know anything was wrong with it.

did you sell on ebay? Or how did you sell it?

And how could you have not taken the manifold off when you took the charger off?

I put it up on ebay, but someone made me an offer and I ended the auction early. When I took the charger off, I just took it off as a whole, there was no need for separation.

If it was me, I would give the guy his money back in return for the SC or enough for him to recon it. BUT, and here's the thing, I would want to be sure that the offending article was definitely the one I sold him. Any distinguishing marks that you remember on the outside? The fact that it was running fine when you took it off is not relevant in my book. You need to do the right thing but be careful he is not scamming you with an old broken SC he wanted to replace!!

The engine was in the car when I took it off. I probably should have stated that this is off of a d16, not a b series, that might make a difference as to how it comes off. It all comes off as one unit.
